This blog is about how negative talk leads into negative actions. This means if you reticule someone enough the subconscious reacts to that and sometimes makes that be a reality. Negative talk leads to negative actions. In the case of children, it is really the case. Our children look to us as examples of who they should be. If we are always cutting them down, their perception of that may be that is who they are. Again negative talk leads to negative actions. If their self esteem is in the toilet how do they react. Sometimes, they withdrawal, sometimes they act out. If this is the case with your child look back at the dialogue you are having with your child. Try praising them for the accomplishments they have done. Try really talking to them and better yet listening to them. As adults we tend to get caught up in our daily drudge and take it out on other people. I know I did that, and unfortunately because I am not perfect still do with out really thinking about it. We have to be careful of what we say and especially what we do. We are our children's role models. We are the pinocle of who they think they should emulate. What example are we setting as parents? If we are not available to be there for our children to talk to and really listen to what they have to say, who will they turn to? Just food for thought.
