Hi Everyone:
Today's blog is about the impact of stress on the body and the mind. When we encounter
stress in our lives, we have many feelings that accompany that stress. Feelings of being overwhelmed, anger, feelings of having no control over the situation. which can lead to fear and anger. All of these feelings can take a toll on you physically if not addressed. As Veterans I am sure you can relate to these feelings. But as individuals as well we all encounter stress in our live. I comes with being human. The question is how do we deal with the stress in our lives. In my case at least I tend to be naturally high strung. That means that I have to work hard to relax and calm down when thing go wrong in my life. Stress if left unchecked can cause, headaches, high blood pressure and many more physical situations. Medication can only mask the problem. You may feel calm for a while as long as you continue to take those, however I am a firm believer in natural ways to deal with stress as well. The thing I want to emphasize here is you need to take some time for yourself. Meditation can do wonders. Find a quite place, take some deep breaths and put yourself in a place that has given you a sense of peace and happiness. I have found it helpful to get a sound machine. If the rain puts you in a state of peace, or the sound of the ocean that is the way to go. The great thing about this as well is you can use this time to reprogram yourself as well. You take control of what is going on with you. Remember the subconscious does not know what is reality and what is not. If you program your subconscious that you are happy, and can accomplish what ever you put your mind to good things will start to happen for you.
Take ten minutes that is not asking a lot for your emotional and physical well being. When you are in a state of calm use affirmations to let your subconscious know what you want to be reality. Say it over and over again. Every chance you get, while driving, just before you go to sleep is a great time to do this. Take the time to regroup, Take the time for YOU! This is a form of self hypnosis. I would like to recommend this book as well. Hypnosis for Beginners by William W. Hewitt. Check it out it has wonderful information in it. But as always. If you are experiencing PTSD or any other disorder please seek out the help of a professional.www.eftandnlp2.com Stacey Giovanni
Just food for thought.
