Hi everyone:
Hope everyone has a great turkey day. This blog is about self hypnosis. I have found that it works if you work it. Just like anything else.
Step 1. Find a nice quite place to relax.Put on some soft soothing music
Step 2. Close your eyes
Step 3. Take some deep cleansing breaths
Step 4. Be aware of your breathing. Count backwards from 10 to 1.
Step 5. Concentrate only on your breathing. Go deeper and deeper into relaxation.
Step 6. From the top of your head to the tip of your toes relax on body part at a time.
Step 7. Focus on what you want, visualize it, make it real, see the colors, hear the sounds, taste the taste.
Step 8 Anchor it, when you have it say every day in every way I am better and better. I claim this.
Step 9. During your anchoring process put your fore finger and thumb together, again I claim this ( what
ever it is you want. Put yourself there).
Do this as many times as you can. NOT DRIVING ! Work on this. I have given you the basics. Put in what every you want into the picture.
Till next time.

GETTING BUSY WITH YOUR BUSINESS.
Hi everyone:
Hope everyone is having a great day. This blog is about regrets. When I look back on my life I reflect on my past with some regrets. How many of us have wished we could go back in time to relive and replace some of the things we have done. Take back the things we wish we had never done? I don't know anyone that has not has some regrets. Or maybe just regrets to have not done something you wish you had accomplished. We only have one life. For some of us we have less days forward than we do in the past. The world famous Colonel Sanders launched his business at the age of 65, using his first Social Security check as start up funds. A master of personal branding, Sanders leveraged his honorary “Colonel” title and constantly wore the stereotypical “southern gentleman” white-suit and black tie. The rocket like growth of KFC is now legendary, and prior to his death Colonel Sanders’ restaurant chain had achieved over 6,000 locations with sales of more than $2 billion.
This one of many people that have started late and made history with their accomplishments. My point is anything is possible. These are the tips on how to make things happen for you:
1. Find what makes you happy, what makes you wake up each and every morning with a smile on your face.
2. When you find that passion, get a game plan in motion. By that I mean work on yourself to stay motivated
and get the plan of action to get the business off the ground. What is it going to cost. Financing, space that
you need to run your business. Know what your over head is going to be so you can work up a budget.
Materials that you need to run the business. My suggestion is if it is something you are not
familiar with find someone else that has the same business and learn from them. Get a job in that
business, keep your ears and eyes open, learn and take mental notes to know the do's and don't s of
that particular business.
3. Get a marketing plan in place that is a must when you go for financing. If you don't have the credit for that
look for an Angel Investor. They are always looking for projects to finance. Google that.
4. Next make it happen, YES you can an entrepreneur is born every day, why not you? Most of all stay
focused, believe in yourself, align yourself with like minded people, leave the negative Na Sayers alone!
Les Brown once said," you can go a lot farther with someone running next to you then with someone on
your back. Make sense"? I stress find something you love and have a passion for. Life has a way
of kicking your butt. You have to have a passion or you will stop believing and give up. NEVER, NEVER
NEVER give up.
5. Use affirmations and visualizations to stay focused and positive. A couple of affirmations I use daily
are as follow: I ATTRACT EASILY, CONSISTENTLY, AND QUICKLY THE RIGHT PEOPLE
TO MAKE MY BUSINESS SUCCESSFUL AND PROSPEROUS.
I ATTRACT FINANCIAL ABUNDANCE QUICKLY, EASILY AND CONTINUALLY FROM
EXPECTED AND UNEXPECTED SOURCES.
Visualize your business, be specific, sights, sounds, smells, colors, the whole shebang. Do this especially
before going to sleep at night. This helps to make your subconscious go to work to make it reality.
remember I told you in another blog, our subconscious does not know what is reality and what is not.
Teach it to conform to what you want your reality to be.
NOW GET TO WORK AND MAKE YOUR REALITY!

Being Grateful For What I Have
Hi Everyone:
Have you ever been around someone that constantly complains. No matter what goes on they are never happy? I wonder if they ever stop to see what they have and be grateful for that. I have to tell you I was one of those people. I complained constantly. I felt like I had a dark cloud over my head always. I had to stop and take a long look at myself and the people around me. I have driven down the road and seen people literately living on the side of the road. In boxes under the viaduct. How sad is that I thought, the other thing I thought was by the grace of God that could have been me. As a matter of fact I almost was me more times than I care to admit. Sometimes we have to take stock of what we can be thankful for. Our families, our friends. even maybe our jobs. We may hate the job we have, but instead of complaining go out and see if there is something else you can do. If not have you thought about starting your own business. Find something you really love to do and believe a way will be made. It is not impossible. I have done it. When we start to look at our options you will be surprised at what you can do. I think the main thing is believing you can do anything you put your mind to. Take stock of what you have been able to accomplish. It may surprise you. This fuels the inspiration that you can also do what you desire. The other thing you have to do is be thankful for what you have. If you don't like what you have you have the power to change it. YOU HAVE THE POWER. In NLP we believe you can do anything, the only thing stopping you is your mind. Change your thoughts, change your mind. I have given you tools to do just that in previous blogs. USE THEM!.
The other thing I have found works is keeping a journal of your daily accomplishments. This is important because when things start to get a little rough, this gives you the inspiration to keep going.
Now start making changes if changes need to be done. Just food for thought.

Getting Past Tomorrow
Hi Everyone:
I have been focusing on addiction on my blogs, I hope it has been enlightening. Facing your fears is a big part of over coming addiction. Again getting out of your comport zone. The best way to stay addicted is to stay around the same environment and people. Misery loves company so the saying goes, and so true. If someone is doing bad do you really think they want to see you do better than they are? That is sad to say but it is so true. How can you start to see yourself if a better light if you stay stuck in bad. I think the next question is how do you get out of a bad situation like addiction. I spoke before about facing your demons, this means face what is really going on with you. Have you experienced trauma? Does your addiction come from taking to many pain pills to help to stop physical pain? Does your addiction come from just being around the wrong people and experimenting? There are a lot of reasons someone may become addicted to drugs or alcohol. Getting treatment is crucial and so is getting out of your own way sometimes. By this I mean taking a good hard look at who you are, what you want in your life and what is it you have to do to achieve that. No one can do it for you. You have to do the work. Sometimes, unfortunately you have to hit bottom to be able to see the proverbial light. The other thing is assessing people you have around you. Are they an asset to your recovery of yourself or are they a deterrent? I have found it helps to keep a journal. This helps in many ways, but the most important one in my option anyway is to keep track of your progress, or your set backs. Important note here. If you have a set back don't quite. You only fail when you stop trying. Align yourself with winners, these people can be your role model. Meaning you can see some part of you in them and it gives you a jolt of hope to keep going. Educate yourself on how the mind works, invaluable asset to give you understanding and stable ground to grow with. Learn self hypnosis, learn eft. There are many site on the internet that give free, valuable information. Most importantly, learn to trust and believe in yourself. You matter. YOU MATTER. BELIEVE IT.

Living Without The Mask
Hi Everyone:
Today;s blog is a continued discussion about substance abuse and living our lives. I have seen time and time again how people get caught up in substance abuse to try to stop the pain of trauma or even everyday life. We all want to feel normal, what ever normal may be for us. Or sometimes we just want the pain and the discomfort to stop. Self medicating may seem like the viable solution. Lets talk a little bit about how the drugs or alcohol works on us to seemly help us to cope.
Drugs are chemicals. They work in the brain by tapping into the brain's communication system and interfering with the way nerve cells normally send, receive, and process information. Some drugs, such as marijuana and heroin, can activate neurons because their chemical structure mimics that of a natural neurotransmitter. This similarity in structure "fools" receptors and allows the drugs to lock onto and activate the nerve cells. Although these drugs mimic brain chemicals, they don't activate nerve cells in the same way as a natural neurotransmitter, and they lead to abnormal messages being transmitted through the network.
Other drugs, such as amphetamine or cocaine, can cause the nerve cells to release abnormally large amounts of natural neurotransmitters or prevent the normal recycling of these brain chemicals. This disruption produces a greatly amplified message, ultimately disrupting communication channels. The difference in effect can be described as the difference between someone whispering into your ear and someone shouting into a microphone.
When we continue to use drugs to help us cope, we continue to affect not only our brains but our body's. This can lead to cancer and a multitude of physical issues. Coping skills can come from many different arena's I have talked in previous blogs about meditation. However if you are using drugs or alcohol as a coping tool you must first deal with the addiction. Having been a substance abuse counselor for many years I have to say the traditional modality of treatment can be helpful but in my opinion treatments such as hypnosis and EFT and NLP are much needed as well. This gets to the root of the issue, and if the root of the problem is not gotten to the likely hood of relapse is greatly accelerated if you are able to stop using at all. Especially if there is a trauma at the root of the issue. This may very well be the reason the use of drugs or alcohol started in the first place. There are many reasons an addiction can come to pass. Please check it out.
Just food for thought.

Masking The Pain
Hi Everyone:
I write these blogs from personal and professional experience. Today's blog is about masking the pain of abuse and trauma. This goes out to the Vet's that are reading my blog as well. What does that mean? It means just this. Not being able to handle the pain of trauma, failure, abuse, overwhelm and many other emotions and areas of our lives that make us feel helpless and hopeless. Sometimes we turn to substance abuse to be able to cope. This seems at the time as a way to be able to handle our daily lives. One thing you need to understand if you are using alcohol that is already a depressant. So if you are suffering from depression you are giving your mind and body a double whammy. It helps temporarily but sooner or latter you are going to have to deal with what is really going on with you. I have worked in a substance abuse program where the people on my case load were heroin addicts. This is the basic scenario They use to try to keep from dealing with the daily problems and sometimes trauma that they are enduring. .They get hooked. The don't see a way out. The problem is at that point is that they now have a chemical dependency and have to deal with what is really going on. to be able to have their lives back. The metafor I use is trying to climb Mt Everest with a 100 LB back pack on.your back. We get into a comfort zone, bad as it may be, we tend to want to unconsciously stay in the environment we are familiar with. To venture out of that comfort zone can be a very frightening thing. You may think, will other people judge me. Or maybe the fear of failure or even the fear of success is to over whelming for you. What if I fail, what if I make it and something happens that I fail after coming so close to happiness. The fact is you have to face this and start to face your demons to be able to recover your life. How do you do that. In the next few blogs I will get into those steps and give you some advice on how I did it. I had to face my demons to be able to get any kind of life back
Till next time.

Hi everyone:
I have taken some time off writing my blogs to get started doing some in-service trainings for corporations and organizations. I love it. I hope everyone is having a wonderful almost winter. I am finding I along with some of my friends are having some blues due to the up-coming weather. Dingy days. Cold weather. Yuck!.
I have learned that, however what ever the weather is we can all take charge of our own lives. How you may ask. First by knowing what it is you want. It is really amazing how many people I talk to really don't know what it is they really want out of life. We all have dreams that have not been fulfilled. Unless you are Hugh Hefner of course. If you are good for you. Most of us are not. How do we dicier what it is we really want. And then once we get that knowledge how do we get there? It took me a long time floundering from one thing to another to realize what I really wanted. A wise man once said, " Les Brown" you have to find the one thing that is your passion. Something that makes you keep going when things get tough.. So right. Anything we work on we are still going to run into snags. It always happens Murphy s
Law always raises his crappy head. I think the thing that makes the difference is have a real sense of joy everyday. Even when you are having a bad day knowing you are getting up and starting your day doing something you really love to do. Here are some things to make help you find your real passion.
1. When you think of something that makes you smile this is the one thing that is your passion.
2. When you find something that allows you to feel real joy.
3. When you find something that when things get bad you always find a way to make it work and never
and I mean never give up.
4. When someone says "you can't do that, it will never work for you" your little voice says "yes it will"
Try really thinking about this and see what you come up with.
Just food for thought.
Have a wonderful day.

Who Are They
Hi everyone:
I have found in my life there are some people that are just down right not right for us. It is my opinion, if someone is not cheering you on and challenging you to be your best they are not the right people to be in your life. Les Brown says, " You can go a lot farther with someone running with you then you can with someone jumping on your back for a ride." So true. I think we all have people in our life's like that at one point or another. The question is what do we do about it? If it is a family member how do we deal with that. I think the best thing to do is work on ourselves. I tell my clients that we can't help what other do or say. But we can help how it impacts us emotionally. If we have negative people around us sooner or later it is going to affect us if we are not doing something to counter act the negative talk. The negative talk of others becomes our own negative self talk. This can put up super sized road blocks for us to be able to be successful or just plain grow. I personally try to stay away from these kind of people, however sometimes that can be a difficult thing to do. I say counter the negative with the positive. If you are doing some of the exercises I have written in my blog I would like to know how this is working for you. We can make our own reality. You have the power. Remember that. Just ask yourself. Are these people inspiring you, are they encouraging
you to be the best you can be? Just food for thought.

Addiction The Mask I Wear
Hi Everyone:
This blog is about masking your pain with self medicating. By that I mean using drugs or alcohol to avoid feeling the pain after a trauma. This happens often unfortunately. Sometimes it happens by accident. When we are on prescription medication it is easy to get addicted. When I was in the substance abuse field I took a survey of the women that came into the facility to deal with their addiction. I found 95 percent of the women that came in their had some kind of abuse issue. In my women's abuse group I found that 70 percent of them had never talked to anyone about it before the group. That is shocking. The moral of the story is self medicating is not the answer. We have to deal with our issues. Scarey as it may be. We can never give up. Abuse is not your fault. I have found that masking the pain is like putting a bandage on a gaping wound. Sooner or later we have to deal with the underline issues of what is really going on. Stop That Negative Self Talk
Hi Everyone:
My blog today is about negative self talk. We all experience it. at one time in our lives. Where does that little voice inside us come from? Well from what I have read and experienced personally it comes from what we hear from others. That becomes our belief in what we can achieve or accomplish. In my case at least because I was brought up in a negative environment that negative talk like, your stupid, you will never amount to anything resonated in my head for years. I did not put two and two together for a long time. Especially if you are in an abusive relationship. Let me clarify something. Verbal abuse is still abuse. When you are demanded constantly it becomes your view of your self worth. You respond accordingly in your daily life. Like attracts like. Meaning if you feel you are not worth anything that is the kind of person you attract. It happens like magic. I know from experience it happened to me constantly. It wasn't until I figured out how to get past the negative self talk that things started to change for me. Here is some of the things I did. First thing I did was to understand what was going on with me. I have covered that already. Moving on. The next thing is to start to reprogram the negative into the positive. How you may ask, simple everyone time a negative talk inside me said I couldn't do something I countered with a positive YES I can. I literally shouted my negative self talk down. No out loud of course. I did not want to look like I was loon. But in my head I sure did, loud and clear. Guess what it the negative talk shut up. Next I reprogrammed myself with positive affirmations. I used as what we call in NLP an anchor. By this I mean putting my index finger and my thumb together and saying a positive affirmation that depicted what I wanted to happen. Do this often, in fact do it every time you think of it. Next when I went to bed I visualized what I wanted in full blown color and vivid detail. I did this because this in essence tells my subconscious what I want. I have said over and over the subconscious does not know what is reality and what is not. Do this consistently. I do this just before I go to sleep. This is really self hypnosis. Try it and get back with me. Let me know your progress. Don't give up. It won't work in a few day. You have to be consistent with it. But it will work. If you are a survivor of abuse this will do wonders for you to help regain your sense of control and self-esteem.

Living with Fear
Hi Everyone:
Hope everyone is well today. Today's blog is about fear. When we have a trauma we go into fight or flight mode. But as well we can go into freeze response. This means the trauma stays in the body. It is in the electrical system as well in our energy systems of our body. In the wild an animal that is being hunted by a predator will run and if they feel they can no longer run they play dead. If they are lucky enough to escape the predator eating them, they get up and shake. The tremors actually deplete the trauma out of their body's However we do not do that and so we hold those traumas in us. So when we have a traumatic event happen and do not address it, it will stay with us on a subconscious level and is stored in our bodies. We may not even realize it is still a part of us. When someone is attacked we may go into freeze response. Many feelings can result from this. Guilt, feeling like we should have fought back, anger that we did not have the strength at the time to fight back. How do we get rid of this freeze. EFT can help with that significantly. I gave you a web site before in my blog to take a look at. I hope all of you did that. It has been a proven fact that the mind and body are linked together in the sense of trauma if not addressed becoming a physical issue. In a recent blog I talked about doing a little test. I said think of something small and focus on that. You will get a feeling somewhere in your body. That is where the trauma is stored. This is where you need to focus on with the eft. If you are experiencing these things please seek out a professional. This will not go away by itself. I know I experienced panic attacks for many years. I wish I knew what the problem was and a way to fix it long before it got to an extreme level. And for the people that are reading this blog, remember if you are a victim of sexual assault or domestic violence or child abuse. It is not your fault.Get some help. Take your control back. Just food for thought. More on eft and hypnosis next time. Please feel free to comment on my blogs. I invite you to submit a response and let me know what you may want to see in my up coming blogs.
Until then have a wonderful week

Stop Letting Fear Rule Your Life
Hi Everyone:
Hope you liked the last little thing I have sent you. I found it to be uplifting. This blog today will be about over coming fear. Fear, we are born with only two fears, the fear of a loud noise and the fear of falling. All other fears are learned. Fear can be a debilitating thing. It can stop us from leaving an abusive situation or stop us from living the lives we want.
We tend to get into a comfort zone sometimes and even though the situation is not the best it is better than going out to the unknown. I found this to be true in trying to leave an abusive relationship. My feelings were this is bad, but what if I get myself into something that is even worse. Sometimes the fear is geared towards just not having enough self -confidence or self- esteem. I think the bottom line is fear is based on your belief systems. Do you believe you are capable of accomplishing anything or do you let fear rule your decisions. Again this is what you belief about yourself. I have talked before in other blogs about where our belief systems come from. I have also given you tools to be able to help yourself change those belief systems if they no longer fit who you are or who you want to be. My question to you is are you working at it? If not, ask yourself why. Are you afraid of success? Or are you afraid of failure. In my case it was a little bit of both. I let my fears rule me to the point I kept living my life in self destruct mode constantly. You see the blogs I write are from personal experience. It takes great courage sometimes to make that move to change. Change can be very scarey. But think of what that change can do not only for you but the people that are around you. If they see a change in you they themselves may be inspired and want to change as well. I can be a positive cycle. Think of how many people you may inspire and do great things for yourself as well. Just food for thought.

Stress Hurts.
Hi Everyone:
Today's blog is about the impact of stress on the body and the mind. When we encounter
stress in our lives, we have many feelings that accompany that stress. Feelings of being overwhelmed, anger, feelings of having no control over the situation. which can lead to fear and anger. All of these feelings can take a toll on you physically if not addressed. As Veterans I am sure you can relate to these feelings. But as individuals as well we all encounter stress in our live. I comes with being human. The question is how do we deal with the stress in our lives. In my case at least I tend to be naturally high strung. That means that I have to work hard to relax and calm down when thing go wrong in my life. Stress if left unchecked can cause, headaches, high blood pressure and many more physical situations. Medication can only mask the problem. You may feel calm for a while as long as you continue to take those, however I am a firm believer in natural ways to deal with stress as well. The thing I want to emphasize here is you need to take some time for yourself. Meditation can do wonders. Find a quite place, take some deep breaths and put yourself in a place that has given you a sense of peace and happiness. I have found it helpful to get a sound machine. If the rain puts you in a state of peace, or the sound of the ocean that is the way to go. The great thing about this as well is you can use this time to reprogram yourself as well. You take control of what is going on with you. Remember the subconscious does not know what is reality and what is not. If you program your subconscious that you are happy, and can accomplish what ever you put your mind to good things will start to happen for you.
Take ten minutes that is not asking a lot for your emotional and physical well being. When you are in a state of calm use affirmations to let your subconscious know what you want to be reality. Say it over and over again. Every chance you get, while driving, just before you go to sleep is a great time to do this. Take the time to regroup, Take the time for YOU! This is a form of self hypnosis. I would like to recommend this book as well. Hypnosis for Beginners by William W. Hewitt. Check it out it has wonderful information in it. But as always. If you are experiencing PTSD or any other disorder please seek out the help of a professional.www.eftandnlp2.com Stacey Giovanni

EFT helping to heal trauma
Hi everyone:
I am an emotional freedom practitioner and survivor of abuse and trauma. Having said that, I would like to expound on that subject in this blog. I used hypnosis and EFT to overcome abuse and trauma. Let me explain how this works. When you have a trauma, it is stored in the body. By that I mean just this. The body is made up of electrical systems.. Hence when you have an EKG, they are measuring that electrical systems.. If there is no electrical system, you no long exist. Simple as that. We work with the same meridian systems the acupuncturist work with. The only difference is we tap on those systems we don't use needles. And for some of you including me that is a blessing. When you have been in a trauma that trauma is stored in the body. Let me give you an example. Think of something that has bothered you or made you a little angry. Don't go into anything large. Just something small like someone cut you off in your car. You will feel that little Zing in your system. Pay attention to where that is in your body. That is what we work with. This is a block in your energy system. I has been proven that a block may manifest itself into a physical issue if not addressed. When we are stressed out for example we may have a headache as a result, or our blood pressure may go up. These are examples of what we call in the field, mind body connections. I use hypnosis as well as EFT when I work with trauma survivors for this reason. The EFT takes care of the blocks, the hypnosis helps to eliminate the negative self talk that can block you progress to move forward from the event it self. I will talk more about that in my next blog. I would like to refer all of you to a wonderful website that give valuable free information. Please visit this and take notes. www. emofree.com. I can't begin to tell you how helpful this can be for you. I must say however, if you are experiencing PTSD, panic attacks, or any other disorders, please seek professional help. Till next time, everyone please have a wonderful day. www.eftandnlp2.com Stacey Giovanni

Negative Talk Hurts
Hi Everyone:
This blog is about how negative talk leads into negative actions. This means if you reticule someone enough the subconscious reacts to that and sometimes makes that be a reality. Negative talk leads to negative actions. In the case of children, it is really the case. Our children look to us as examples of who they should be. If we are always cutting them down, their perception of that may be that is who they are. Again negative talk leads to negative actions. If their self esteem is in the toilet how do they react. Sometimes, they withdrawal, sometimes they act out. If this is the case with your child look back at the dialogue you are having with your child. Try praising them for the accomplishments they have done. Try really talking to them and better yet listening to them. As adults we tend to get caught up in our daily drudge and take it out on other people. I know I did that, and unfortunately because I am not perfect still do with out really thinking about it. We have to be careful of what we say and especially what we do. We are our children's role models. We are the pinocle of who they think they should emulate. What example are we setting as parents? If we are not available to be there for our children to talk to and really listen to what they have to say, who will they turn to? Just food for thought.
Have a great day

HOW TO MOVE FORWARD AFTER TRAUMA
Hi Everyone:
I hope everyone is doing well today. I want to blog today about moving forward after trauma. I am a survivor of child abuse, sexual assault and domestic violence. I found it was hard to move forward even after I began healing. Why? In my opinion is was because I was afraid to number one be judged if I talked about what had happened to me and number two I was just plain stuck in my comfort zone. Strange as it may sound when you have experienced a trauma you get stuck in that state of misery. As bad as it was you are afraid to move forward, afraid you will not be successful in staying in the healed state of mind. You actually get used to misery. That is a sad thing to say, however that is exactly what happens. A lot of that feeling has to do with low self-esteem, and feelings of low self worth. For those of you out there that have experienced trauma of abuse you can relate to what I am saying. How do you get out of that rut? First thing, at least what worked for me was to educate myself on what made me feel the way I did. I read everything I could get my hands on that anything to do with how the human mind functions. This gave me my sense of control back. I could actually help myself and not depend on someone else for help. However, as a good friend of mine says, "Michele Rosenthaler" we heal in community. So true. Even though I was taking the first step forward on my own I needed people around me I could trust. That is very important. Trust. We loose that when we have been abused. For those of you that have not been subjected to abuse, my words to you are as follows. Please still educate yourself on abuse issues. Someday, I hope not but someone you care about may be a victim of abuse. A friend, a family member, or a neighbor. The words you say can be the difference of her going to get help or staying stuck in abuse. Just food for thought have a great day.
